Wear & Abrasion

Our testing services include basic wear, abrasion and friction test configurations:

  • Pin-on-Disk (ASTM G99)
  • Linear Reciprocating (ASTM G133)
  • Ball on Flat
  • Flat on Flat

Wear and abrasion test setup can be customized to meet customer's application.

The pin-on-disk technique creates a circular wear track by spinning the sample.

With the linear reciprocating technique, the sample is moved back and forth to create a wear track in the shape of a straight line.

Both test configurations can be used to measure the dynamic (kinetic) coefficient of friction with and without wear.
